1. Summary

We do not collect your name, email, address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, or device fingerprint.
We do not show ads. We do not sell or share data with advertisers or analytics brokers.
The app generates a random anonymous identifier on your device the first time you launch it. It is used only so the trivia server (cardzerver) does not show you the same questions twice and so daily-challenge leaderboards can rank scores. It is not linked to your real identity.

2. What the app sends to our server

DoubleQross talks to a single server we operate at https://bd-cardzerver.fly.dev. The data sent is:

We never send your name, email, contacts, location, or any other personal information. The qross_device_id is a random number — it is not derived from any hardware identifier and cannot re-identify you.

3. What the app stores on your device

The random qross_device_id (a UUID) and qross_player_id (the server's reply), in iOS user preferences.
Your last-played and last-won dates, so the streak counters can advance.
Your last 200 game results (board, path, score) so you can review them.
Your current achievements, your selected topics, and your settings.
A copy of the trivia question library (about 56,000 questions) in a local SQLite database, so the game works offline.

All of this lives on your device. Deleting the app removes it.

4. Apple Intelligence

If your device supports Apple Intelligence, DoubleQross uses Apple's on-device language model (Foundation Models) to generate move suggestions, hints, explanations, and post-game analysis. None of this leaves your device. On devices without Apple Intelligence, the app falls back to deterministic suggestions and skips AI-generated text entirely.

5. Children

DoubleQross is rated for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. Because we do not collect names, emails, or profiles in the first place, COPPA does not generally apply. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Tracking

DoubleQross does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because we do not track you across other apps and websites. We never link your qross_player_id to data from any other source.

7. Third parties

DoubleQross does not embed third-party SDKs that collect data. We use:

Apple FoundationModels — on-device LLM, no network
GRDB.swift — open-source SQLite library, no network

Our backend (cardzerver) is hosted on Fly.io. Fly.io can see network metadata (IP address, user agent) for technical reasons; it does not receive any of the personal data listed above.

8. Your choices

You can delete your local data by deleting the app.
You can ask us to delete your qross_player_id and any associated leaderboard records by emailing the address below.
You can stop the app from contacting our server by turning off network access for DoubleQross in iOS Settings — gameplay still works offline using the bundled question library.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, surface a notice in the app on the next launch.
