Tap any of the four corners on the highlighted board. If you answer correctly, that corner becomes your start and the diagonally opposite corner becomes your goal. From your current position you can move to any adjacent cell (including diagonals). Correct answers extend your path; wrong answers burn the cell and cost a life. Reach the goal corner to win.
Single is one diagonal — corner to corner. Double Cross is two legs: complete the first diagonal, then continue to one of the two remaining corners. Lives and burned cells carry over between legs.
If you turn on the Question Timer in Settings, you have 15 seconds to answer each question. If time runs out, the cell is burned and the timeout counts as a wrong answer.
Yes — correct cells are revisitable. You'll be asked a fresh question from the same topic when you re-enter one. Burned (wrong) cells stay blocked permanently.
One puzzle per day. Every player worldwide gets the exact same board, with the same questions in the same layout. You get one attempt per UTC day. Your play streak (consecutive days played) and win streak (consecutive days won) appear on the home screen.
After finishing a game, tap Share. You'll get a 6-character code. Send it to a friend — they paste it into Settings → Accept Challenge and play the exact same board.
AI features (move suggestions, hints, explanations, post-game analysis) require Apple Intelligence. If your device does not support Apple Intelligence, the app uses deterministic suggestions instead and silently skips AI-generated text. All AI runs on-device; nothing is sent to a server.
The first time you launch DoubleQross, a 16 MB seed of questions is unpacked locally. After that, the full 56,000-question library syncs in the background. You can play immediately using the seed library while the rest downloads.
Tap the flag icon on a question to send a quick report. We review reports manually and update the trivia library.
Delete the app and reinstall. There is no online account — your stats live on your device.
